DVD of the Day - "Heart: Dreamboat Annie"

DVD of the Day
Heart: "Dreamboat Annie" (Eagle/ST2) 2009

The band, led by Ann and Nancy Wilson, revisit their very first triumph live on stage in front of an ecstatic audience. Thrill as they play their legendary debut album "Dreamboat Annie" live for the first time ever. The band tears into their hits and covers classics by Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Pink Floyd, all of whom inspired them as they were writing the album. The concert was recorded at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles. Extras include interviews, fan featurette, and photo gallery.
Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson struck gold in 1976 with their debut CD, spawning radio hits like "Crazy On You" and "Magic Man," that opens the concert. They perform five encores, including "Mistral Wind," "Goodbye Blue Sky" and Led's anthem "Black Dog," which I recently selected for my Verve compilation "Jazz Rock" on Eumir Deodato's fusion version.
